medicine: good article!
simplyclaire: Hey Jayman, yeah it is good to know that other writers out there are struggling too! I've been ill for a few months too, still am actually -- so I'm blaming that for the lack of writing.
Jayman: Sorry for the length of this, Claire. I'll just end with the hope that you're getting enough down to recharge. Take care. my friend.
Jayman: Hey Claire! Just dropping by for a quick coffee to see what's new. It is nice to see another writer having their imagination and creativity pulled in several directions..hehe. I did complete a first draft for one I've been working for quite a while, am about 2/3 through a second and am about halfway through the final short story in a collection of five based on my character called The Guardian of Attraction. This last one is proving to be an awesome challenge kargely because it involves subject

Jayman: It's been a while, my friend. How ya doing? Aside from this darn job, I have also been pretty busy writing. Since I began a daily energy routine I have found my imagination has become much more acute than ever before. Hope all is well with you.

A Film Called The Cave...

  • Mood: Darn kidneys...
  • Music: Relaxing with soft tunes...
  • Book: Listening to music.
  • Film: The Cave - don't bother!

This week is The Cave.

Might as well get straight to it. My thoughts on The Cave… don’t those clips look damn good and scary… well stick with the trailers! What a let down this movie was. If you have the choice between this and Descent, go with Descent. In a way both movies are similar but still very different.

I was really looking forward to this one; maybe my expectations are too high. It is such an average based film it started to bore me after a short while. Once they’re deep in the cave, one by one, surprise, surprise so many are killed by unknown creatures when they least expect it. This film is so typical that you know what’s going to happen throughout the film. And - Oh no!!! It looks like there’s gonna be a second one.

The only good things with this movie are the sets. They are excellent, you can see a lot of hard work has gone into them. The creatures are basic no real detail to them, nothing what we haven’t seen before. The storyline is extremely plain. Scare factor… you’ll get a better scare factor watching Scooby Doo!!!

And this is why I thought it was going to be a good movie, don’t be fooled:

Movie Synopsis:

Deep in the Romanion forest, a team of scientists stumbles upon the ruins of a 13th century Abbey. On further inspection, they make a startling discovery – the Abbey is built over the entrance to a giant underground cave system. Local biologists believe the cave could be home to an undiscovered eco-system, so they hire a group of American cave-explorers to help them investigate its depths.

Jack (Cole Hauser) and his brother Tyler (Eddie Cibrian) are thrill-seeking professional cave explorers who run a team of the top divers in the world. They arrive in Romania with all the latest equipment, including a new type of scuba tank allowing a diver to remain submerged for up to 24hrs. The crack unit, which also includes Charlie (Piper Perabo) and Buchanan (Morris Chestnut), immediately begins their exploration. But what they find deep inside the caves is not just a new eco-system, but an entirely new species altogether…

And you know what makes this film more creepier… new creatures have been found in caves like this.
